Howdy, wizards.

Salesforce just announced autonomous agents that can email cold leads for you, schedule meetings and train new sales reps. I’ve seen some teams building similar workflows on their own already, and it seems to be working. (full summary below)

The most important news stories in AI this week

  1. A comparison of AI image models. Matt Wolfe just shared a stunning overview of the different image generators out there, using 4 prompts consistently across the model. He shared a Figma link so you can zoom all the way in and see more detail.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ While this is just super cool, it only shows you how the models compare “out of the box” without any special prompting. It doesn’t really show the full picture for any of these models: 1) this isn’t a definitive test – for example Midjourney seems pretty bad in this comparison, but it could just have been that specific generation. 2) this test nothing to showcase the models’ advanced features like style reference, personalization and parameters which can be tweaked to make the images way better.

Fortune Favors The Bold

Whether it's AI or Amazon, fortune favors the bold.

  1. AI code-editor Cursor raises $60m in series A led by Andreesen Horowitz. Cursor is a code editor that’s more deeply integrated with AI than anything else on the market. It doesn’t just write code – it understands the intent of the system your building and can more effectively help with things like maintaining, debugging and tweaking code. It works with all leading LLMs and the VS code plugin ecosystem.

‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ There’s a lot of buzz around Cursor these days, as it’s reinventing the code editor from the ground up – with AI in mind. A couple of hyped features are it’s autocomplete, which works over multiple lines and its command + k shortcut to make direct changes to your code in plain English.

  1. ‎Claude can now show math equations in a nice, consistent way. More specifically, it can do LaTeX rendering. You just need to toggle the feature “on” here.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ Great news for those wanting to use Claude for math and science. Thinking about how advanced math Claude can already do, it’s kind of surprising how this feature wasn’t implemented before – ChatGPT has had it for a good while already.

  1. Salesforce announces two autonomous sales agents.

    • Einstein SDR Agent lets you create an agent that can work your leads by doing personalised outreach emails, responding to replies, and schedule meetings for your sales team.

    • Einstein Sales Coach Agent is trained and your best practices and can coach your new sales reps. It can attend calls with your new reps, providing real-time tips and objection handling.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ Sales teams are bogged down by a lot of manual work to go from cold to warm leads. The big idea here is that the agent does the initial work and make a warm handoff to the sales rep – effectively helping businesses scale their sales team and close deals faster. I guess the success of these agents, at least initially before customers are used to it, will be dependent on the interaction coming across as natural and not obviously AI.
