  1. Image generator Ideogram launches its 2.0 model. It stands out for its accuracy when it comes to incorporating text inside images, including alignment and accuracy of the text. 1. ‎Amazon saves 4,500 developer years with Q. Amazon lead Andy Jassy revealed some ways Amazon are using their GenAI assistant, Q, to make tedious, boring parts of a developer’s work way more efficient. They’ve used code transformation to upgrade their applications to the latest version of Java at a fraction of the time and effort it used to take (claiming they’ve saved ≈4,500 developer years).

‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ This is a great showcase for how companies can use AI to automate tedious and/or repetitive parts of work that few people are actually excited about doing anyway – letting them work on higher-level, more inspiring stuff that brings their business forward.

  2. Google launched a prompt gallery for the Gemini API. It shows off prompt ideas that developers can use and adapt in their own AI workflow and products. Here’s some cool ones I found (press “Run” to test it): List items from image, Santa’s mailbox, Math Worksheet Generator.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ ‎ Getting started building with AI can feel intimidating, but small tools like this gallery of prompts can make it easier to understand how to prompt a chatbot to give the user a consistent, useful output.

From our partners

200+ hours of research on AI tools, prompting techniques & hacks packed in a solid 3 hour masterclass.

  1. Perplexity now bundled with LinkedIn Premium. Perplexity is getting smart about distribution. They’ve partnered with LinkedIn, meaning LinkedIn Premium members are now eligible for free access to Perplexity Pro for a year (as long as you maintain the LinkedIn subscription).

‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ Why is Perplexity so generous all of a sudden? One of the reasons might be that they’re introducing ads in their search by Q4, and need more users to serve them to. AI chatbots are racing to win over customers, and partnering with a platforms that have relevant user bases such as LinkedIn is a strong growth tactic.

  1. Quillbot is now 40% off. We’ve previously ranked Quillbot as the best AI assistant to help you improve your writing. This is the last day of their August sale – get unlimited modes, no word limits and more for a fantastic price.
